Worship

Chris Burge and friends worship with Mill Valley Fellowship

Romans 12:1 exhorts us: “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”

Worship! We launched this new web page with its blog opportunity just as we experienced three days of worship at Mill Valley Fellowship, April 22-24, 2016. We are so blessed by our awesome team and our friends Chris, Jeremy and April. The act of singing praise and worship to God, letting my heart, mind and soul connect with His presence, can happen in a minute, or for hours. This time it was for hours! It was a transforming occasion that many, like me, described as giving them peace and a sense of joy.

As I did this past weekend, I often find myself singing in the spirit (1 Corinthians 14:15) when I shift from focusing on the words to connecting with God. In understanding, or in the Spirit, the experience of worship releases Holy Spirit power for me to give my whole life to God. It’s a 24-7 offering, allowing Him to lead me as I serve Him. Perhaps that is why God blessed me 15 years ago with Anita, my wife who, from the day I met her, declared the priority in her life of singing praise to God. Our home and cars are often filled with worship music, “Jesus songs”, as my grandson, Hunter, calls them. More importantly though, I try to live my life surrendered to God.

One day, we’ll worship forever giving all glory and praise to our Lord Jesus (Revelation 5:12/John 1:29). Until then, worship Him!
